The victory hand emoji can mean different things to different people, though its most common interpretation is that of the “peace sign” gesture: a hand symbol which is almost universally understood and used. It depicts a disembodied right hand with the index and middle finger raised into a V-shape: the peace sign. If rotated 180° to show the backhand of the emoji, it would show what is considered a rude gesture in Britain. So as well as signifying peace, in certain conversations it could also be used to represent the view of a person who is giving a (British) “f**k you!” gesture! It really is all to do with context!
